Celebrate America Presented by Citizens Bank Saturday, July 4th

Celebrate America will kick off at 5pm with West Elem. Dance Team following at 5:45pm Ashleigh Rogers will take stage then at 7pm Triple Threat featuring Sarah Roark, Penny Wolfe & Vikki McGhee. Fireworks will start at DUSK. Come Celebrate America at Riverside Park Saturday, July 4th!

Batesville Area Arts Council to present "Hairspray" Sunday, July 5th

Come join us at Couch's Garden behind Brown Chapel at Lyon College, beginning between 8:45-9pm the movie "Hairspray". The movie is FREE to the public, but Donations will be accepted. Upcoming July 19 will be "October Sky".

White River Water Carnival BBQ Fund Raiser and T-Shirt PRE-ORDER SALES July 9th

The Chamber of Commerce will be selling Bar-B-Que Sandwiches, Chips and Drink for $5 as well as taking orders for the 66th Annual White River Water Carnival T-shirts for $15. The Chamber will deliver Bar-B-Que plates for orders of 5 or more on July 31st. To place an order you may call the Chamber at 870-793-2378 or email lacy.baker@mybatesville.org. Old Independence Regional Museum presents "This I Believe" Four people present their beliefs about patriotism, led by Dr. George Lankford from 9am to Noon. Programs are FREE and OPEN to the public unless otherwise noted. Museum is located at 380 South 9th Street, between Boswell and Vine Streets in Batesville. Citizens Bank announces the 5th Annual Karaoke for a Cause benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters, July 13th

Citizens Bank is proud to present this year's Karaoke for a Cause event and invites you to take part as a sponsor, contestant or patron! Karaoke for a Cause is an evening of competition, great food, silent and live auctions. The 2009 event will be held on Monday, July 13th at Josie's at the Lockhouse in Batesville and will have two categories of competition: The soloist's category and group category. The contestant(s) entry fee is $100.00. Karaoke competitor packets are available by calling 612-8888. Sponsorships opportunities are still available and anyone wanting to donate to the live or silent auctions is encouraged to do so by July 1.

Tickets to the event are $20.00 per person and the doors open at 6:00 p.m. To sponsor a singer(s), get sponsorship information, purchase tickets, or to learn more about BBBS contact the Batesville BBBS Office at 870-612-8888 or email bbbs_callie@sbcglobal.net. The 2009 event goal is $30,000.00. All proceeds will help the local BBBS agency match many more children with a Big Brother, Big Sister, or Big Couple. Superior Senior Care will be hosting a Business after Hours on Thursday, July 16, from 5pm-6:30pm at 679 Harrison Street. Refreshments, Door Prizes and networking with other professionals in Batesville are just a few things you will enjoy. Come out, meet other members, and catch up with others you have not talked to in a while!

White River's Got Talent Presented by First Community Bank & Bad Boy, Inc. Tuesday, July 21 & Thursday, July 23rd

Show off your talent for a chance to win $1,000. First Community Bank & Bad Boy, Inc. Present WHITE RIVER'S GOT TALENT. Audition tryouts at UACCB/Independence Hall, Batesville Arkansas Tuesday, July 21 – 6 to 8 p.m. or July 23rd – 6 to 8 p.m. FINALS Friday, July 31st @ 6 p.m. at the outdoor amphitheatre at Riverside Park. Top ten finalists from audition tryouts will compete for their share of PRIZE MONEY. 1st place - $1,000; 2nd place -$500 & 3rd place - $250. Please pick up an application and release form at any First Community Bank location or at the Chamber of Commerce, or access forms online at www.firstcommunity.net. Forms should be filled out prior to lining up at audition. All applicants must fill out an application and personal release. First Community Bank reserves the right to refuse an audition to any individual or act, at its sole discretion. Applicants under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and must have parental permission.

Do you have something that you want to send out that is irregular or not something we include on our weekly updates? Send us an email of what you would like to notify the membership about and we will do our Membership Blast. The goal of the membership blast is to promote any job openings you may have, special promotions that you are running, or as emergencies dictate, information about lodging, or other pertinent info. This is a free service to you and we hope to promote more of what you are doing to others in an effort to keep our local economy moving!
